LEAP
provides classes in which students study English as
a second language.
In the LEAP program, international students learn the
language skills necessary for both the academic and

LEAP features:
- Students successfully completing the program do not need
to take the TOEFL test to enter Wright State University.
- Small class size and individual attention from instructors
and tutors
- Experienced faculty, all with advanced degrees in teaching
English as a second language (TESOL) or a related field
- Writing classes using computer technology, including e-mail
and World Wide Web browsing
- Field trips to local sites of interest both on and off
campus
- University housing which provides English-speaking roommates
- Access to Wright State academic and recreational facilities
- Tutoring in the University Writing Center
- Conversation partners available
- LEAP extracurricular clubs

LEAP provides:
- Ten weeks of instruction, including intensive speaking,
listening, reading, writing, grammar, and the latest
computer communications
- Integrated skills instruction as well as courses
which focus on speaking and pronunciation
- Regular meetings with native English-speaking conversation
partners
- Scheduled sessions with trained tutors in the University
