Important OPERS Pension Reform On Campus Meetings

Human Resources, in cooperation with the Inter-University Council (IUC)  has arranged to bring representatives of OPERS on campus for presentations about this important matter. Two meetings are planned for March 18th at 10 AM and 1 PM in E 156, Student Union. These presentations are for Wright State employees and you are encouraged to attend one of these meetings.

On March 24, OPERS will hold a “town hall” style meeting in the Medical Sciences Building amphitheater, room number 120, at 6:00 PM. OPERS will send email announcements to all of its participants inviting them to attend this open meeting. Wright State employees are welcome to attend, and members of the public may also be invited to attend.

Important Additional Information

We are pleased to announce that the IUC has information on its web site which references each of the five Ohio pension plans and the recommended plan amendments for each plan. The IUC is working diligently with the Ohio Retirement Study Council to remain current on the progress of legislative action. You may refer to the IUC web site at
www.iuc-ohio.org and click on the link for “Pension Reform.” This web site is evolving and will be updated to provide educational materials about pension reform, and may include important web links to other related materials. Please use this site and check it occasionally. You are welcome to inform your colleagues about this important information.

State Teachers Retirement System (STRS)

Human Resources is working with STRS representatives in an effort to arrange for on campus meetings to address STRS pension reform issues. Information will be passed along if this can be arranged in the future.

New HR Survey Feedback Tool
"How R we doing"

In consultation with Staff Council, HR has developed a new employee service feedback tool. It is open continuously for employee use. Leaving your name and contact information is optional; however we would encourage providing contact information so any questions or concerns can be addressed.  Any questions or other feedback will be reported and follow up will occur as soon as possible or within three business days.

HR will report the results of the feedback to Staff Council on a periodic basis. The survey is formatted as "How R we doing."  This survey should allow HR to provide improved service to our employees, as well as an on-going communication and feedback mechanism.

To HSA Participants:

Fifth Third Bank is currently updating their online systems that has caused sporadic disruption to HSA account holders.  The communication has been limited from Fifth Third Bank; however, we have been assured they are taking steps to limit disruption to account holders and this new platform will be improvements for all.  The online website will have a new look.  There are several changes to the online system that will impact the way account holders use this service (for example, bill pay features).  These changes are addressed in the FAQs.  Employee and dependent questions should be directed to HSA support team at 1.888.350.5353.
