Myronn Carlock, Sophomore
Hometown:
Columbus, Ohio
Major:
Mechanical Engineering
Clubs/organizations:
National society of Black Engineers (NSBE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Wright Engineering Council (WEC), Veterans League, Black Men on the Move (BMOTM)
Academic Experience:
I will never forget having a meeting with my religion teacher about my low research paper grade and learning, I had simple writing and grammar problems that needed to be brought to my attention as early as high school. My religion teacher showed me that its not ok for high school teachers to overlook students’ weaknesses just to get them though a class, its best to make students work hard on weaknesses to achieve greatness.
Getting Involved:
My favorite experience at Wright state was becoming a part of Black men on the Move and President of National Society of Black Engineers. Finding an org that fit my personality and working hard to become president was a great experience.
Making the Switch
Transferring from another school to Wright State I have been 100% more focused on my studies. I stay active in the school organizations, and take more advantage of what campus has to offer students.
