Public health care forum at Wright State University offers chance to ask questions, share opinions

From the H1N1 pandemic to insurance reform, few topics today inspire so much passion or raise so many questions as health care. To help people make sense of these complicated issues, the Wright State University Student Government is sponsoring a health care forum entitled "Your Money, Your Health: A Discussion about Health Care," on Monday, November 9. The forum, which is free and open to the public, will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Student Union atrium on campus. The event will feature free refreshments and raffle prizes, as well as the opportunity to hear and participate in a discussion by a panel of health care experts, including: Stephanie Dopson, M.S.W., M.P.H.--Health Communications Specialist and Technical Specialty Unit Lead for H1N1 Response, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Gary L. LeRoy, M.D.--Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Admissions, Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine Leatha Ross, F.N.P.--Student Health Services Director, Wright State University Hailey Mahan--Co-Chair, Wright State University Student Government Health Care Subcommittee Two senior-level medical students enrolled in the M.D./M.B.A. dual degree program The panel discussion will be moderated by medical students Avash Kalra and Lakshman Swamy, hosts and co-founders of Radio Rounds, the nation's only medical talk show produced entirely by students. # # # Editor's note: For more information or to schedule an interview contact: Phillip Neal, Marketing and Communications, Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, (937) 775-4587 or phillip.neal@wright.edu.
