Wright State Artist Series presents Top Brass -- The Top Brass ensemble will present Unsung Hero at Wright State University on Friday, Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m. as part of the university’s celebration of Black History Month. Wright State to host Sixth Annual Trebuchet Competition -- During the Middle Ages, the trebuchet was a machine of war used for hurling stones or other objects. This colorful part of history will return when Wright State University hosts the Sixth Annual Trebuchet Competition, held in conjunction with National Engineers Week, on Friday, Feb. 17, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the main arena of Ervin J. Students can network with area’s premier IT professionals at Wright State’s upcoming Digital Mixer -- Wright State University is partnering with the business community, the Greater Dayton IT Alliance, i-Zone and others to give area college students a unique opportunity to network with the region’s premier IT professionals and explore information technology as a career field. The ‘Digital Mixer’ will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the WSU Student Union Apollo Room. Wright State Art Galleries to exhibit work by faculty -- The artistic talents of faculty in Wright State University’s Department of Art and Art History will be displayed during the Wright State University Art Galleries exhibition “Space + Observation + Invention” beginning Sunday, Jan. 22, through Sunday, March 5, in the University Art Galleries in the Creative Arts Center. The participating faculty members will discuss their work during an opening reception on Sunday, Jan. 22, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Galleries.
