WSU's financial planning students make history at national invitational -- Three seniors from Wright State’s Raj Soin College of Business made history recently when they earned two first place trophies at the National Collegiate Financial Planning Invitational, sponsored by Ameriprise Financial. Three-day WSU event supports memorial scholarship -- Wright State University will host “THT 4 & More: Games for a Raider Cause” on May 16–18 to create the Adam Garapic Memorial Scholarship. Organizers hope to raise $10,000 and fully endow a scholarship in Garapic’s name to memorialize his contributions to the university community.(05/09/2008)

Six Wright State faculty members honored for excellence in teaching -- Six members of Wright State University's faculty recently received the Southwestern Ohio Council for Higher Education Excellence in Teaching award. Wright State's award winners were among 47 faculty recognized from 13 area colleges and universities at a luncheon hosted by Wittenberg University. Award winners were presented with individual awards and a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble bookstore. (05/09/2008)

Six Wright State social workers receive district honors -- Wright State faculty, staff and students representing the social work field comprised an overwhelming majority of honors presented at an awards banquet sponsored by Region 7 of the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers last March. Of the eight honorees, six were from Wright State. The awards recognize individuals in the social work profession who exemplify outstanding leadership, advocacy for clients, program development and research.(05/01/2008)

Wright State’s Tony Ortiz Named Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan -- Tony Ortiz, Wright State University's director of athletic training and sports medicine, was honored last month by the Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs as one of 10 Distinguished Hispanic Ohioans at the organization's gala in Columbus.(05/1/2008)
