Extreme Home Makeover extremely exciting for two members of WSU family -- The national spotlight is shining on two members of the Wright State family chosen this week as the recipients of a new house, courtesy of the ABC TV show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”(07/31/2009) Wright State partners with "Knowledge City" in India -- Wright State University officials recently signed an agreement with a start-up technology university opening in Madurai, India. The new knowledge and education hub in Madurai, dubbed "Madurai Knowledge City," is slated to open in November 2009. (07/30/2009) Jenny Garringer completes the 2009 HERS Bryn Mawr Summer Institute -- Jenny Garringer, marketing manager in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Wright State University (WSU), recently graduated from the HERS Bryn Mawr Summer Institute, held June 20-July 15 at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. The summer institute, a 34-year partnership between Bryn Mawr College and Higher Education Resource Services (HERS), is the premier residential professional development program dedicated to advancing women leaders in higher education administration.

(07/28/2009) Lake Campus students garner awards at national Business Professionals of America competition -- Lake Campus Business Professionals of America (BPA) students had great success recently at the 2009 National Leadership Competition, “Blazing New Trails,” held in Dallas, Texas. Hamilton, M.D., has been awarded the 2009 Wright State University Trustees' Award for Faculty Excellence, the highest award given by the university.(07/21/2009) U.S. Department of the Air Force awards Wright State University $2.7 million -- Wright State University has received an award from the U.S. Department of the Air Force’s (USAF) Air Force Research Laboratory to enhance collaboration between the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) and WSU’s National Center for Medical Readiness (NCMR). The award supports the development of the NCMR Tactical Laboratory, also known as Calamityville™, and provides education, research and development projects in disaster response and medical readiness.(07/10/2009) Nobel Prize winner Dr. Oliver Smithies to deliver Earl H. Morris Endowed Lecture on July 10 -- On Friday, July 10, Smithies will deliver the 2009 Earl H. Morris Endowed Lecture at Wright State University. His presentation, entitled "60 years as a bench scientist," will take place in Gandhi Auditorium in White Hall on the WSU campus and will begin at 10:30 a.m. The lecture, sponsored by the WSU Boonshoft School of Medicine Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, is free and open to the public.
