Wright State First Weekend events include service, convocation -- During First Weekend 2005, new students entering Wright State University will be welcomed to campus Friday, Sept. 2, through Monday, Sept. 5, through a variety of programs that include a “Freshman Plunge” to promote civic engagement. First Weekend 2005 is designed to provide the more than 2,000 new freshmen with the information and guidance they need to successfully begin their college experience. (08/31/2005)

Certification course on human resources set at WSU’s Raj Soin College of Business -- The Wright State University Raj Soin College of Business will sponsor a Human Resource Management National Certification Preparation Course beginning on Sept. 24. The registration deadline for the sessions, planned for seven Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is Sept. 12.(08/25/2005)

Wright State exhibition combines art, science -- The Wright State University Art Galleries will host “Art/Science: The Photography of David Goldes,” beginning Tuesday, Sept. 6, and continuing through Sunday, Oct. 16, in the University Art Galleries in the Creative Arts Center. Goldes will discuss his work on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. in room M252 of the Creative Arts Center. A reception will follow at 4 p.m. in room A132 of the Creative Arts Center. Wright State University unveils new athletics training center -- Wright State University Athletics enters a new era today with the grand opening of the Setzer Pavilion/Mills-Morgan Center, a new state-of-the-art athletics training center. Wright State professor appointed to help oversee Virginia’s crime lab -- Dan E. Krane, Ph.D., an associate professor of biology at Wright State University, has been appointed by the governor of Virginia to a panel of scientists charged with overseeing the state’s crime lab. (08/19/2005)

Wright State to host workshop on Internet sales and marketing -- The Ohio Small Business Development Center at Wright State University will sponsor “How To Get Traffic To Your Website and What To Do When It Gets There: The Key to Successful Internet Marketing,” a workshop to be held on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Atlantis Room, E157 Student Union on campus. Topics to be covered include how to get quality traffic to your Web site, how to design a Web site to convert your traffic to sales and leads, simple ways to measure the performance of your Web site, how to beat your competition online and winning strategies for Internet success.(08/09/2005)
