Aging affects family relationships in many ways, says noted author speaking at Wright State -- Sue Miller, a critically acclaimed author whose works explore the effects of aging on family relationships, will deliver a keynote lecture on this topic on Sept. 9 at Wright State University as part of “Time’s Body of Evidence: An Interdisciplinary Look at Health and Aging.”

(08/23/2006) Health, aging theme explored in art exhibit, lectures, concert, panel discussions, readings -- A major program exploring many aspects of health and aging and including an art exhibition, lectures by nationally known speakers, panel discussions, a concert and readings by local writers will be presented by the Wright State University Art Galleries from Sept. 9 through Oct. 15.(08/17/2006) Stop the silence: community coalition to explore issues of women’s health and violence against women -- September is Women’s Health Month and October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. A coalition of nonprofit organizations, government agencies and higher education institutions, including Wright State University, is currently planning and coordinating a series of educational programs and events for this fall that explore women’s health, wellness and safety. The Wright State University Raj Soin College of Business can help through its Human Resource Management National Certification Preparation Course. Tuesday, Sept. 5, is the registration deadline for sessions planned for eight Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting on Sept. 23.
(08/10/2006) Psychology student helps underserved clients with depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts -- Some of Bridget Gerber’s clients are depressed. Others suffer from anxiety. A few are trying to cope with relationship conflicts or grief. What they all share in common is a need for psychological services at Dayton’s Cassano Health Center.(08/10/2006) Aviation Century project focus of Wright State Libraries event -- In 1998, Ron Dick and Dan Patterson launched the Aviation Century project because they believed that more than any other factor, aviation changed the world in the 20th century. The project resulted in a five-volume book series and additional aviation history resources that include over 50,000 photographs and 400,000 words of text. They will speak and sign copies of all their books in the series on Friday, Sept. 22, at 6 p.m. in the Paul Laurence Dunbar Library on campus.(08/08/2006) Prepare now to celebrate the holiday season during 24th annual Wright State Madrigal Dinner -- It’s not too early to start thinking about the lords and ladies, roving musicians, marionettes, singers, dancers, court jester and the great feast that comprises Wright State University’s 24th annual Madrigal Dinner. (08/4/2006) High school students help “Drive Away Poverty” -- As part of Wright State University’s Wright LEAD Leadership Institute, approximately 30 local high school students improved their leadership skills and became involved in the community by organizing a donation drive for three local nonprofit organizations. Their project, “Driving Poverty Away,” recently collected items at Wright State and Wilberforce University to benefit the Artemis Center for Alternatives to Domestic Violence, the St. Vincent DePaul Hotel for the homeless and House of Bread, a community kitchen. (08/4/2006) Wright State Department of Music presents “Alumni Virtuosity” -- During a special evening on Saturday, Sept. 9, “Alumni Virtuosity,” a concert presented by the Department of Music at Wright State University, will showcase the musical talents of several Wright State alumni while benefiting the Concert Hall Renovation Fund. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Creative Arts Center on campus(08/03/2006) Open house proves lucky for Erin Knapke as Centerville teacher wins tuition scholarship -- Erin Knapke's name was drawn at an open house as the lucky winner of a full-time tuition scholarship, valued at more than $9,000. (08/03/2006) Transfer students add significantly to Wright State enrollment totals -- To help acquaint transfer students with campus life at Wright State, a transfer open house and coffee bar is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 8.
