Christopher Gardner brings The Pursuit of Happyness to Wright State -- Christopher Gardner, who told his story of rising from poverty to self-made millionaire in his autobiography The Pursuit of Happyness, will present “Breaking the Cycle” as part of the Wright State University’s Presidential Lecture Series on Monday, Sept. 10, at 5:30 p.m. in the Student Union Apollo Room.(08/31/2007) Wright State’s impact reaches every aspect of life in the Miami Valley -- Thanks to the contributions of people with degrees from Wright State University, the region’s workers earned an extra $600 million in total annual earnings, according to a report released today. Wright State generated $480 million in economic activity in the southwest Ohio region in 2006, reported the study, which went on to identify how the impact of the 40-year-old university reaches into every aspect of the community.(08/29/2007) Sayer Named Wright State Interim Dean for Lake Campus -- Wright State University (WSU) has appointed James E. Sayer,
Ph.D., as Interim Dean of the Lake Campus. A professor of communication, he is in his 34th year of service at Wright State, having completed 18
years as Chair of the Department of Communication in Dayton. Sayer will
begin his new role at WSU’s only regional campus on September 1.
(08/27/2007) Wright State classes come to NW Montgomery County -- Students in the NW Montgomery County area won’t have to go far to further their degree once Wright State classes start Sept. 4, 2007, at the Miami Valley Career Technology Center in Clayton. (08/22/2007) “Best in the Midwest” The Princeton Review names Wright State University -- Wright State University’s regional reputation goes national tomorrow when The Princeton Review posts its 2008 Best Colleges: Region by Region issue. Wright State will be among the 161 schools from 12 states listed as “Best in the Midwest.”(08/20/2007) Accountancy students set record in national case competition -- For an historic third time in four years, Wright State University accountancy students qualified two teams for the recent national finals of student case competition sponsored by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). The Raj Soin College of Business students constitute the only team in the history of the competition to ever have two teams among the four finalists on three occasions. For their efforts this year the team received $6,000 in cash awards that will be used to support future Wright State student competition in the IMA event.
