Wright State alumni donate proceeds from financial strategies class to WSU scholarship -- The Wealth Consulting Group of UBS Financial Services Inc., offers an adult education course, “Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement,” that teaches strategies designed to help attendees successfully manage their 401(k), take advantage of recent tax law changes, select investments that match their tolerance for risk and increase income from personal retirement plans. Proceeds from the course are being donated by the the four Wright State alumni who make up the financial group to benefit student scholarship programs. For this session, the four will also make a dollar-for-dollar match of the total fees from the course in support of the university’s new initiative, the Graduation Fund. (08/27/2009)

30 Dayton Regional Summer STEM Academy graduates jumpstart their academic year -- Thirty graduates of the Dayton Regional Summer STEM Academy (DRSSA) will head back to high school this fall with a jumpstart in science, technology, engineering and mathematics as well as college credits for their effort, having spent part of their summer immersed in the STEM disciplines.(08/27/2009)

Wright State filmmakers premiere HBO documentary The Last Truck: Closing of a GM Plant for Dayton auto workers -- Wright State University's award-winning documentary filmmakers Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar will join former GM assembly line workers for the Dayton premiere of their HBO documentary, The Last Truck: Closing of a GM Plant at the Schuster Center, August 19. The free public premiere will be a tribute to the spirit of the autoworkers, many of whom have not seen each other since the plant closed. The workers and filmmakers will gather with the actual final truck to hit production, a white GMC Envoy.(08/12/2009)
