Wright State Presidential Lecturer to discuss relationship of art, science and culture on Nov. 5 -- The relationship among art, science and culture is the topic for the Wright State University Presidential Lecture Series on Thursday, Nov. 5, with JD Talasek, director of cultural programs for the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), as the guest speaker. The 7 p.m. event, free to the public, will be held in the Schuster Concert Hall of the Wright State Creative Arts Center. AACSB, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, honored the college for innovation in its Department of Finance and Financial Services.
(10/14/2009) Wright State Presidential Lecturer Richard Pimentel overcomes adversity to become national leader on disability issues -- Richard Pimentel can tell you about overcoming adversity. His experiences go way beyond his nationally recognized expertise on disability issues. He was pronounced dead at birth in the delivery room. His mother left him in an orphanage. After his father’s death, he was raised by his impoverished grandmother and deemed “retarded” by a school guidance counselor. And it doesn’t stop there.
(10/12/2009) Wright State gala celebrates 30th anniversary of School of Professional Psychology -- Wright State University's School of Professional Psychology will hold its first annual Black Tie Gala, Friday, Oct. 16, from 6 to11 p.m., in the Winter Garden Atrium of the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Center.(10/8/2009) Study by WSU Boonshoft School of Medicine researchers touted by American Heart Association -- The American Heart Association (AHA) is publicizing findings by a team of Wright State University researchers led by Mariana Morris, Ph.D., vice president for graduate studies and chair and professor of pharmacology and toxicology in the Boonshoft School of Medicine. The study finds that timing of sugar intake affects weight gain, blood pressure and behavior.(10/7/2009)
