Career and Technical Education

Major

The vocational education program prepares teachers from business and industry to teach in one of the five service areas taxonomies. A balanced program of general education, professional education, and study of vocational topics leads to a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. Career Technical licensure can be earned when the candidate has technical course work and recent related work experience. Licensure in other areas can be obtained with a dual major option. Teachers who have completed the vocational education 37 quarter hour licensure program may apply those hours toward the bachelor’s degree.

  • Students with an associate’s degree from an accredited university may apply relevant technical education credits toward the baccalaureate degree.
  • Several courses are delivered via web-based instruction.
  • Emphasis for this program is on assisting students with the transition from business/industry to education.
