Clinical Laboratory Science

Major/Minor

The clinical laboratory scientist is a vital member of the health care team. The major responsibilities of a laboratory scientist include analysis of patients’ samples in the specialties of chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, transfusion services, and molecular techniques.

  • The Clinical Laboratory Science program includes three years of undergraduate course work and a 12-month clinical laboratory curriculum in a clinical laboratory science program that is accredited by the American Medical Association Council on Medical Education through the National Accrediting Agency of Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
  • Students who complete the program are eligible to take the national certification examination. Nearly all of Wright State’s graduates pass this exam on their first attempt.
