Industrial and Systems Engineering

Major

Industrial engineering is about choices and figuring out how to do things better. In a recently updated Jobs Rated Almanac, industrial engineering ranked highest among all engineering disciplines for desirability as a profession. Professional industrial engineers perform a wide variety of tasks, such as developing web-based distribution systems, managing the design and production of new products, and implementing quality control processes.

  • Students may pursue a standard four-year curriculum or a five-year cooperative education program.
  • Five areas of specialization are offered: information technology, operations management, manufacturing systems, human factors, or research/honors.
