Liberal Studies
Major/Minor
The liberal studies major allows students to tailor an academic program to their needs and interests across a wide range of disciplines. The major includes a liberal arts core of courses in humanities, fine arts, and social sciences, and concentration of upper-level courses in one of these areas. Students must also complete a professional component involving courses in business, communication, computer science, education, or public administration, which is designed to enhance a student’s employment and career advancement potential. Further, the degree offers students the opportunity to explore other interests through electives. Each student develops a program of study in consultation with a faculty advisor.
