Semester Transition

Information concerning the move from Quarters to Semesters

Wright State will move to a semester calendar in Fall 2012. The faculty, staff, and administration of Wright State will work with each student to ensure that he or she is able to maintain his or her academic progress before, during, and after the conversion to semesters. The guiding principle of our commitment to students is that the transition to semesters will not adversely affect the time to graduation or increase the cost of a degree. Get the basic facts →

Students, here is what you need to know:

  • If you graduate before Fall 2012, you WILL NOT BE affected by the academic calendar transition.

  • If you begin your studies prior to Fall 2012 on the quarter calendar and do not graduate before Fall 2012, you WILL BE affected by the change and will be considered a “transition” student.

  • Transition students will be fully informed of how to complete their degrees through the use of intensive advising and frequent notifications. Use the online Course Schedule Planning Guides to plan completion of your degree requirements.

  • Undergraduate students will develop an individualized advising plan called My Advising Plan—MAP for short—once the new degree requirements are finalized. Graduate students will work with an advisor or thesis/dissertation supervisor to develop a personalized program of study.
