SOFTWARE GIFT CAN REVOLUTIONIZE BUSINESS
Heralded as the most important new breakthrough in computing technology in two decades, Business Process Management (BPM) offers a competitive advantage for business that can revolutionize the way business is conducted. Thanks to a $3.2 million gift of computer software from EDAptive Computing, Inc., of Dayton, Raj Soin College of Business students and the area business community will be on the front lines of implementing this valuable new business tool. With this gift, Wright State University’s Raj Soin College of Business will establish the EDAptive Computing Business Process Management Research Center to provide college business students with the latest technology in the BPM field, and research and consulting assistance to Miami Valley businesses wanting to optimize their business processes. In today’s highly charged global economy, businesses need to be able to turn on a dime to meet rapidly changing market forces and take advantage of the explosion of new technologies. In the past, business process change started with diagrams on conference room walls, with long lead times before the changes could even go into development. Business Process Management software allows businesses to refine, simplify and automate the process by manipulating processes directly and conducting ‘what-if’ analyses to optimize results. “This center will greatly enhance our teaching mission at the Raj Soin College of Business and provide a research agenda to expand the theory of business process management,” said Berkwood Farmer, Ph.D., dean of the college. An active member of the college’s ISOM advisory board, EDAptive Computing is a research and development consulting company founded in Dayton in 1997. “We are looking forward to collaborating with Wright State researchers to advance the state of the art in BPM by leveraging our innovative software products and methods,” said Praveen Chawla, Ph.D., CEO of EDAptive Computing, Inc. - Lake Campus Steps Up to the Plate - Scholarship Recipients Give Back - SummerBridge Gives Students a Head Start - Kettering Fund Invests in Research - Nursing Receives Largest Gift in its History - Boonshoft Medical School Gift Transformational
