Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to share that, effective April 30, 2025, Amelia Salazar, vice president for student success, will step down from her full-time duties to focus on her health. While I am saddened by this turn of events, I fully support Dr. Salazar’s decision to focus on her well-being.
We all know Dr. Salazar is a subject matter expert in student success, and in her short time at Wright State, we’ve experienced positive movement in retention efforts. I am pleased to share that she will stay with us in a part-time capacity as special assistant to the president. In this capacity, she will work with me and others on various student success initiatives to ensure our positive momentum continues.
The University is making plans and will announce next steps regarding the Division of Student Success shortly.
Please join me in thanking Dr. Salazar for the positive impact she has made as vice president for student success at Wright State University. I know we are all focused on sending her our best wishes for the future.
