Dear Wright State Community,

Our mission statement highlights our dedication to our students:

“We empower all students to excel in their lives and chosen careers through integrated learning, research, innovation, and experience.”

The commitment Wright State has made to our students is that we will create an environment where every individual has the opportunity to succeed.

Keeping in mind our Three Rs—Recruitment, Retention, and Relationships—as our foundation, I’m delighted to announce the second annual University Awards for Student Success Champions for staff, faculty, and student employees who have performed exemplary work in student success.

These awards recognize the nominees’ contributions to programs and services that significantly support and impact student success metrics and student satisfaction.

The award categories are:

Exemplary Service: Recognizes student employees and professional staff in the Division of Student Success for service to students and/or others in the university community.

Exemplary Collaboration: Recognizes faculty, staff, or organizational units outside the Division of Student Success who have made significant collaborative contributions to our work.

Ashley McGinley Award for Exemplary Tutoring: Recognizes tutors and supplemental instruction leaders who best exemplify the many positive qualities, skills, and behaviors needed to excel as a tutor.

Exemplary Leadership: Recognizes professional and student staff in the Division of Student Success who demonstrate exemplary leadership, whether their leadership comes from a recognized leadership position or from within the organization.

Exemplary Advising: Recognizes academic advisors who best exemplify the many positive qualities and practices that distinguish the nominee as an outstanding academic advisor.

Exemplary Teaching: Recognizes faculty who have made significant contributions to student success outcomes in and out of the classroom.

Please consider making a nomination. Instructions for nominating your student success champions can be found at wright.edu/student-success-awards.

Nominations will remain open until March 6.

And be sure to mark your calendars for our recognition event on Tuesday, April 2, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Berry Auditorium (009) in the Student Success Center to celebrate our awardees and their successes!

Best wishes,

Sue
