February 5, 2025 - [OFFICIAL-L] Strategic Planning Kickoff

Dear Wright State Community,

Just over two years ago, Wright State launched our Bridge Strategic Plan to navigate the post-COVID landscape—one characterized by uncertainty in higher education and evolving workforce dynamics.

Our goal was to strengthen our foundation, ensuring that Wright State University remained agile and well-positioned to embrace emerging priorities and drive innovation. Thanks to the dedication of our faculty, staff, and the broader university community, we have made significant strides and achieved key milestones that affirm we are on the right path. Together, we are enhancing our ability to serve our students and communities with impact and purpose.

As we look ahead, our strategic priorities remain steadfast: Recruitment, Retention, and Relationships—the three R's—continue to guide our work and shape our vision for the future. Building on our momentum, we are now focusing on the next phase of our strategic efforts to maximize our impact on students, the Wright State community, and the broader region.

To chart this course, working groups composed of students, faculty, staff, board members, and external partners have been tasked with defining actionable strategies that will drive Wright State’s success over the next five years. This work will take place throughout the spring 2025 semester. It will include listening sessions for each strategic objective, providing our campuses with meaningful opportunities to offer feedback and help shape the future direction of our institution.

We invite you to stay engaged in this process:

  • View the list of working group members on the Strategic Plan webpage.
  • Stay informed—we will continue to update the webpage with progress reports and details on upcoming opportunities to engage in the process.

Your voice is essential as we move forward—and further—together. Thank you for your continued commitment to our shared vision and the success of our students and university.

Best wishes,

Sue
