Article VI: Miscellaneous

 

Section 1: Non-Discrimination.

A.   Wright State University does not discriminate against any person based on any legally protected status and does not tolerate such conduct by members of the university community. Legally protected classes consist of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, national origin (ancestry), military status (past, present or future), disability, age (40 years or older), status as a parent during pregnancy and immediately after the birth of a child, status as a parent of a young child, status as a nursing mother, status as a foster parent, genetic information, or sexual orientation.

 

Section 2: Gifts to the University.

A.   The president, on behalf of the university, may accept gifts.

 

Section 3: Appearance Before Governmental Offices, Boards, and Agencies.

A.   Subject to specific control by the board, the preparation and presentation of requests for appropriations from the state of Ohio, and all official appearances, communications, and dealings on behalf of the university with and before all federal, state, and local governmental offices, boards, and agencies shall be under the direction and authority of the president of the university.

 

Section 4: Naming of University Facilities and Spaces.

A.   The Board of Trustees shall have the sole authority to approve, remove, or change the name of any campus facility and shall adopt and periodically review a policy for such purpose.

 

Section 5: Intercollegiate Athletics.

A.   The University shall participate in intercollegiate athletics in levels and sports approved by the President and the Board of Trustees.
