Overview

This event is a part of the 2023 Civil Rights Pilgrimage Program.

While reviewing historic events of 1963, we will explore the footprints of the American Civil Rights Movement throughout the state of Ohio in locales such as Wilberforce, Oxford, Cincinnati, Lorain & Cleveland, visiting sites like the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center, Miami University (formerly Western College for Women), National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Cleveland’s Civil Rights Trail, Tamir Rice Butterfly Memorial, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Ohio Historical Marker, honoring Toni Morrison.

The listed price of the ticket encompasses travel, lodging, official museum visits, some meals, and incidentals.

  • All college students: $100
  • Faculty, staff, or general community members: $175

Option 2
Friday, March 31—Saturday, April 1, 2023

Includes an overnight stay in Cleveland, OH.

  • Students taking PLS 4940-01/6940-01 or AFS 4990-05/6990-05: $250
  • Wright State students not enrolled in Civil Rights Pilgrimage Class: $299
  • Wright State faculty, staff, and ]alumni: $350
  • Faculty/staff at other colleges and/or high school teachers or administrators: $375
  • General community members: $399
