Working Toward Health Equity: Race, Place, & History — Understanding How Today’s Landscape of Health Inequity Emerged

Topic
How can we better understand neighborhoods of intensive health disparity? How do place, race and history shape social determinants and the contemporary landscape of health inequity? The presentation will speak to the role of these three factors in shaping the geography of opportunity and health. Jason Reece will discuss the Kirwan Institute’s role in working with communities to utilize both spatial and historical analysis to intervene in contemporary place-based health challenges.
