Immerse yourself in the golden glow of the Adirondack High Peaks on this autumn backpacking adventure during Fall Break. Centered around Mount Marcy—New York’s tallest peak—this loop combines rugged terrain, alpine summits, and the fiery colors of fall foliage. October brings crisp air, fewer crowds, and an atmosphere that feels both peaceful and wild. 

Cost: $275 

Cost Includes: ORC trip leaders, all backpacking equipment, meals on location, all permits, camping fees, and transportation from WSU in 12 passenger van. 

Activity Level: Beginner - no prior camping or hiking experience needed but must be physically fit to hike up to 10 miles a day on strenuous terrain carrying a 40 lb backpack. 
Remoteness Scale: Level 3, this is a backcountry trip.  
Physical Challenge Scale: Level 3, this trip is challenging.
