Asian and Native American Center: First Weekend: Hike with Indigenous Students

Saturday, August 24, 2024, 10 am to 11:30 am
Campus:
Dayton
023 Student Union & Runkle Woods Trails
Audience:
Current Students

Join Indigenous student leaders for a gentle hike in the Runkle Woods on campus. You can connect with Indigenous community on campus, hear about events coming up in the new year, and learn a bit about native, edible, and medicinal plants and wildlife that surround us. This opportunity is open to all who are interested in learning but especially welcomes new first-year and transfer students who identify as Native American or Indigenous, whether tribally enrolled or with shared heritage.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and terrain and wear closed toe shoes comfortable for walking.* Bottled water will be provided, along with some light snacks. The first 20 to join receive a lunch voucher for the Union Market to enjoy following the hike.

Meet at the Asian and Native American Center (023 Student Union).

*If weather does not permit the hike, please join us anyway for a meet & greet in the ANA Center!
