Biomedical Engineering Society: Presentation by Dr. Emily Davidson

Tuesday, November 5, 2024, 5 pm to 6 pm
Campus:
Dayton
Oelman Hall 114
Audience:
Current Students

Dr. Emily Davidson will be joining us on Microsoft Teams to discuss her professional development and research interests! She is passionate about mentoring students, and we could not be more excited for this webinar. Dr. Davidson completed her S.B. in Chemical Engineering at MIT before earning her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at UC Berkeley. She completed her fellowship at Harvard under the mentorship of Dr. Jennifer Lewis. She is now an Assistant Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Princeton University, with various research topics.

Dr. Davidson's group focuses on addressing environmental needs for both human health and the health of the plant. They strive to meet these needs through synthetic systems that include various polymer designs, controlled local self-assembly, and structural integration via 3D printing methods. Her discussion will be of huge interests to many disciplines, including, but not limited to, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering!

Here is a snippet of her research interests, from the Princeton website:

1) Investigating fundamental science linking polymer structure and function in new classes of stimuli-responsive and actuating elastomers and gels

2) Programming alignment and integration of functional polymers via additive manufacturing, linking local structure-directing processes with emergent properties and new applications

3) Developing sustainable and degradable polymers and block copolymers.

We hope to see some of you attend her Webinar in-person and online, on November 5th, at 5PM.
