Breathe in the salty air, feel the sand beneath your feet, and let the rhythm of the tides reset your soul. This 4-day coastal escape in the Outer Banks, North Carolina is built for those who want to truly live outside—with waterfront camping, kayaking, hiking, lighthouse exploring, wildlife refuge visits, and a perfect mix of wild exploration and laid-back beach days.  

Cost: $325 

Cost Includes: ORC trip leaders, all backpacking equipment, meals on location, all permits, camping fees, and transportation from WSU in 12 passenger van. 

Activity Level: Beginner - no prior camping or kayaking experience needed but must be physically fit to sleep outdoors, hike, and kayak.  
Remoteness Scale: Level 1, this is a front country trip.  
Physical Challenge Scale: Level 2, this trip is moderate.
