Dear Campus Community,
This will be my last weekly email for a while since the pace of COVID-19 updates has slowed dramatically as we have settled into the routine of Fall Semester. However, be assured I will communicate when I have more news. We continue to plan for Spring Semester, and I likely will have more to share about that in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, I would like to remind everyone that we still are asking all students or employees who test positive for COVID-19 to please submit a self-report. This is an important way that we can monitor and help stop the spread of COVID-19 in or near our campus community. View our COVID-19 dashboard of positive cases.
Part of why our control measures have been so successful is the preparation made over the summer to place sanitation stations in classrooms and around campus. I want to commend everyone for following our safety and cleaning guidelines in the classroom. Please remember to continue to clean your desks and work areas before and after each class. Ample supplies of disinfectant spray or wipes and paper towels are provided in each classroom. You’ll also find hand sanitizer conveniently located in classrooms, hallways, and common areas. As we move into flu season, good personal hygiene becomes even more important, and these efforts will continue to help keep our in-person efforts safe.
I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to the more than 1,000 people who donated in our Wright Day to Give this week. The need is great this year, and you certainly stepped up to help our students in many different areas.
Please visit our coronavirus website to stay informed of how we are responding to the pandemic. In the near future we will discuss additional testing procedures and processes, so please be on the lookout for that.
Once again, thank you for all you do to help stop the spread of COVID-19 on and off campus. We are all in this together.
Take care,
Douglas W. Leaman, Ph.D.
Interim Provost
