Dear Campus Community,
Now that we are starting to settle into Fall Semester, I encourage students to connect with fellow students and get involved with student life on campus. A great way to learn about student organizations is the Raider Org Expo on Tuesday, September 15, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Hosted by Student Involvement and Leadership, it is a great opportunity for new and returning students to find a club or organization to call home at Wright State, and perhaps even win a prize or two.
We have been slowly ramping up some on-campus activities, while making sure they are safe and socially distanced. Campus Recreation began more programming this week. Students have free access to the Fitness Center in the lower level of the Student Union by appointment only. Learn more. In addition, billiard rentals are also open.
Rowdy Acres, our new disc golf course, is also open across from the intramural fields along Colonel Glenn Highway. The course begins at the east end of parking Lot 1. Discs are available for checkout at the Recreation Desk during regular business hours.
I would also like to invite students, staff, faculty, and alumni to our 2020 Virtual Volunteer Fair, hosted by We Serve U, going on now. Wright State has a long reputation of engaging in meaningful service to our local communities and organizations. Even during a pandemic, there are ways we can volunteer and help others.
Again, to stay informed about our ongoing response to the pandemic, visit our coronavirus website.
Thank you for all you do every day to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
Take care,
Douglas W. Leaman, Ph.D.
Interim Provost
