Honorary Degree Nominations (due by Oct. 9)

The Faculty Senate Commencement Committee invites all members of the Wright State University community to nominate individuals to receive an honorary degree at one of the future commencement ceremonies. The committee is looking for nominees who represent the goals and aspirations of Wright State. Nominees should have made an outstanding contribution to humanity in any field of endeavor.

There are two steps to nominate a candidate for an honorary degree. The first step is to submit an initial letter of nomination. This brief letter should include an introduction of the nominee, a short description of the person's qualifications, and an explanation of why they should be honored. Initial letters of nomination are due by October 9.

The Commencement Committee will review these initial letters and notify nominators of the outcome. For nominees progressing to the next level, the committee will request additional Information.  In this second step of the process, nominators will be asked to provide a full application packet that includes all the required information.

Nominations are welcome from all current and former members of the university community. We have had many excellent honorary degree recipients in the past years and look forward to continuing that tradition. Nominations can be submitted via the online nomination form or an email to facultyoffice@wright.edu.
