Programming Calendar Snapshot
You can expect to see programming from the ANA Center and affiliated student organizations annually around culturally significant dates, as detailed below. Please refer to the upcoming events list above, emails, or social media for the most up-to-date information about events.
Fall:
- Mid-Autumn Festival (late September)
- Orange Shirt Day (September 30) -- formally known as National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day for remembering the history and recognizing the ongoing legacies of the residential school system in Indigenous communities in Canada and the US.
- Indigenous People's Day (second Monday, October)
- Native American Heritage Month (November)
- Festival of Lights (varies, late October to mid November) -- also known as Diwali
Spring
- Lunar New Year (varies, late January to mid February)
- Iditarod Race (late February to early March)
- Ramadan (varies, March to May)
- Festival of Colors (mid to late March) - also known as Holi
- Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (April) - celebrated nationally in May, at WSU it is typically observed throughout April before the spring semester ends
