Carolyn Baker

Carolyn loved to cook, loved her dogs and cats and really enjoyed spoiling her nieces and nephews. She died on August 20, 2023.
Loretta Metzler

Loretta was active in the Civil Air Patrol and had a lengthy career at Cox Heart Institute. A published technical writer, she was one of the few women who were breaking the glass ceiling at the time in computer language and programming. She died on August 3, 2003.
Phillip Conway

A Vietnam veteran having served in the US Air Force, Phillip Conway was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion. He died on July 8, 2023.
Helen Klein

Helen taught psychology at Wright State for 37 years, conducting research into early childhood development, cross-cultural communication, parenting and temperament. Her research lab was an exciting place with ideas flying, and she loved guiding her undergraduate and graduate students. She was the first director of the Applied Behavioral Science master’s degree program at Wright State and led that program for many years. She died on May 16, 2023.
Sarah Timmons

Sarah was a member of the London Business and Professional Women, and volunteered at the Madison County Hospital. She enjoyed reading and walking, and for many years knitted warm clothing for the Seaman’s Church Institute. She died on May 12, 2023.

Barbara loved spending time in nature and at Indian Lake, was a faithful and talented organist for many years at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Enon, and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her kind, generous, and humble spirit will be missed by all who knew her. She died on April 23, 2023.

An avid sports fan, she traveled the world supporting her granddaughter’s softball teams and was affectionately known as Mimi to not only her granddaughters but to all of their teammates and friends as well. She died on April 1, 2023

Charles Painter

Charlie Painter was the coach of the Wright State women's tennis program from 1989 through 1999, amassing 150 wins with the Raiders, the most of any Wright State tennis coach in program history, while also serving as the Midwest Collegiate Conference tournament director. He was also named Wright State Coach of the Year in 1995.
Julia Reichert

Over her 50-year career as a filmmaker and teacher, Julia Reichert was an active builder of the American documentary community. Her films, co-directed with longtime Wright State professor Jim Klein and later with former Wright State faculty member and alumnus Steven Bognar, have given voice to women and working people, infusing their stories with urgency and dignity. She died Dec. 1, 2022.
