What is Science Olympiad?
Science Olympiad provides a Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) competition that rivals the excitement and commitment sports have achieved in American schools.
The Science Olympiad National Tournament will attract more than 2,000 diverse students, coaches, and parents from all 50 states. Science Olympiad is dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education, increasing male, female, and minority interest in science, creating a technologically-literate workforce, and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by students and teachers.
The students will compete in events that focus on applied topics and challenges that emphasize teamwork and interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving. The 2017 Tournament will be the culminating experience that will begin with the participation of close to one million students from more than 7,000 schools from across the nation in local, regional and state tournaments.
