Imogene B. Horne, 79, Senior Accounting Clerk, School of Medicine

Imogene B. Horne, 79, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Feb. 26, 2018, at Soin Medical Center.

Imogene graduated from Chapman High School in the class of ‘57 where she played on the basketball team and later attended Winthrop College on a basketball scholarship. She married Jim Horne and lived in the Philippines, Germany, New York, Arizona, Ohio, and Georgia, ultimately returning to the Inman/Boiling Springs area, where she often saw her friends from CHS. She was a family oriented person who enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Throughout the years, Imogene served in several departments at Wright State University, including Accounts Payable, Physical Plant and the Business Office of the School of Medicine. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Dayton Air Force Museum. She was an avid hobby photographer, an expert in Fashion and Merchandise, a keen observer of humanity with a mischievous wit, and was a warm, wise and wonderful woman.

She was born in Inman, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Price and Florida Bell. Along with her parents, her siblings, Mary, Dean, Kenneth, Randy, Mack, Jimmy and Duran, precede her in death.

Imogene is survived by her daughter, Kim Horne; son, Mike (Yvonne) Horne; sister, Betty Parris, Brenda Bell, Betty Bell and Gaile Simmons; grandchildren, Brittany (Nick) Miller, Jackie Horne, Sarah Horne, Jordan Horne, Sabrina (Joe) Slaton, Eric (Ashlee) Moore; great grandchildren, Arianna, Skylar, Alayna, Elijah, Landon, A.J., Chase, Adilynn, Brentlee, Madelyn, Olivia; as well as numerous special nieces and nephews.
