James Merle Daily, 86, associate professor of management, passed away on September 18, 2017, at Tryon Estates, Columbus, North Carolina.
Dr. James Merle Daily is survived by his wife Carolyn and his children Marilyn Daily-Hills of Melbourne Australia and Kenneth Daily of Dayton, Ohio. His grandchildren Phillip and James Daily, Brittany and Brandon Good and his niece Janet Daily also survive him.
James was born in Hammond, Indiana on May 24, 1931, ten minutes before his identical twin, Thomas Daily (deceased) and was also preceded in death by his sister Dalores Bradford, Hammond, Indiana.
Dr. Daily received his bachelors and master's degrees in Business Administration from Indiana University. He received his doctorate from the University of Colorado. He was a member of the business management departments including Western State College of Colorado, University of Colorado, University of Missouri, The American College and Wright State University.
At Wright State he served in a variety of capacities including Acting Dean of the College of Business, Chairman of the Management Department and professor. He was a lifelong student of a broad variety of disciplines.
James was a member of the United States Naval Reserve for 16 years. He served in the Korean War from 1954 to 1956 achieving the rank of Lieutenant. He served the Military Sea Transportation Service and was stationed in Seattle, Washington. Memorial Services are being held for the family.
