Pamela K. “Pam” Wheeler, 67, of Fairborn, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Hospice of Dayton after a courageous battle with her family by her side. She was born Feb. 8, 1956, in Greene County, the daughter of the late Kendall “Herb” and Peggy (Spencer) Weddington. Pam was employed as an administrative assistant at Wright State University, retiring in 2016 after 42 years of service.
Pam’s family was most important to her and she loved spending time with her children, granddaughters, sisters, and other family members every chance she got. An avid sports fan, she traveled the world supporting her granddaughter’s softball teams and was affectionately known as Mimi to not only her granddaughters but to all of their teammates and friends as well. Pam had a strong faith that carried her throughout her lifetime; her signature word was "Believe". She has left a legacy of strength and love for both God and family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Greg, in 1997. Survivors include her two children, Andrea (Jeremy) Ferguson of Fairborn, Jason Wheeler (Amber Parks) of Fairborn; three granddaughters, Haley Grace, Kinsley Faith, and Blakely Hope; two sisters, Robin Weddington (Steve Turner) of Fairborn, April (Frank) Stewart of Fairborn; as well as nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
Pam’s family would like to thank the many friends, fellow family members, and neighbors who provided loving care, support and assistance over the last four years.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 4, 2023, from 5– 7 p.m. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dwayne Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
