memorial candle

Robert Irwin, born May 20, 1944, in Iberia, Mo., took his final bow on Dec. 28, 2024.

Robert, a man of immense resilience and indomitable spirit, was a beacon of love and wisdom to all who knew him. His life was a testament to the words of Winston Churchill, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts." With his courage and perseverance, Robert touched countless lives, leaving a legacy that will forever be etched in our hearts and memories.

Having spent most of his life in Dayton, Ohio, Robert was a man of many talents and interests. A dedicated family man, he was a wellspring of wisdom, always there to offer a listening ear, a comforting word, or a helping hand. His guiding principle was another quote he often shared, this one from Helen Keller, "The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision." Robert was a man with vision, always looking ahead, planning for the future, and guiding his loved ones with a steady hand and a loving heart.

Robert is survived by his two beloved children, Monica Sanders and Robert Irwin. Each of them carries a piece of their father's legacy, his resilience, his wisdom, and his vision. They will forever remember their father as a man who lived his life with courage, grace, and an unwavering commitment to his family. We invite all who knew and loved Robert to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page. As we grieve his passing, let us also celebrate his remarkable life and the countless ways he touched our hearts. May his life continues to inspire us, and his memory live on in our hearts forever.
