Ronald Charles "Ron" Fetzer, Ph.D., age 74, of Germantown, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Affectionately known as Doc RC, he was a beloved teacher and mentor during his teaching career of 51 years. He taught in the WSU Department of Communications from 1980 to 1996, and later served on the faculty of Nova Southeastern University and Miami Universities.
Fetzer was born in Tiffin, Ohio, on June 21, 1943, to Marjorie B. (Beeler) and the late Charles H. Fetzer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Denny Fetzer.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janice M. (Wilkinson) Fetzer; his daughter, Rhonda (Roger) Strahm; his son Charles (Ami) Fetzer; his grandchildren Andrew, Alex and Austin Fetzer; Dylan, Anthony and Russell Dwyer; and Nate and Alyssa Strahm; his great-grandchildren Ashton and Makennah Fetzer and Westin Bertsch; his brother Larry (Connie) Fetzer; and his sisters, Linda (John) Kinney, Elizabeth (Eric) Chisholm and Carol (Dennis) Sowards.
