Sandra Lou Grody, 76, Secretary, Department of English

Sandra Lou Grody, 76, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, June 9, 2017.

Sandra retired from Wright State University and had a passion for the outdoors and gardening. She was a member of the Clark County Master Gardeners and she also love to read and take care of her animals. While her husband was at the VA Medical Center she was a very active spouse who devoted her time by volunteering in every way possible. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always there to lend an ear or give advice.

She was born on March 5, 1941 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Francis and Mildred (Spigelmoyer) Cox. Sandra is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Joni and Lynn Coressel and Kristy and Roger Holmes; son-in-law, Greg Bodey; stepdaughter, Jackie (Chris) Grody; grandchildren, Matthew Clark, Jamie (Leland) Rose, Sarah Coressel, Michelle (Brian) Rieman, Doug Bodey, Zachariah Holmes and Joel Holmes; step granddaughters, Sarah Holmes, Beth Miller and Megan Holmes; four great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Gary A. and Lou Cox; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Grody and daughter, Wende Bodey, both of which she lost in December of 2016.
