Chris Collins and Jim Brown will present a talk on the History Of Dayton Sports at Sinclair College in Centerville on Friday, Nov. 1, 1–2 p.m. The talk is part of a series hosted by retired Wright State Assistant Athletic Director Bob Noss.
Chris Collins is the quintessential broadcaster as he begins his 28th season as "The Voice of the Raiders" for radio, cable, and streaming of several Wright State sports. He has spent 37 years as a D.J., news anchor and sportscaster. Those broadcasting stints included 13 years at WHIO AM and FM, 16 years at MIX/WONE in Dayton, and five years at WFNC/WQSM in Fayetteville, NC as well as time at stations in Chillicothe, Bellefontaine, and Kenton.
Jim Brown is Wright State basketball and many ways Wright State overall. He saw the first year of basketball in small high school gyms around the area in the late 60's and early 70's to the WSU PE Building and now in the current home of the Raiders, the Ervin J. Nutter Center. There may have been many coaches at Wright State through the years, but he is known as "Coach" by everyone. After nearly 30 years on the Raider sideline, Brown ventured into the high school ranks as the head coach at Northmont High School.
