Amari Davis went big this Christmas.
The former Trotwood-Madison star came to town on Christmas Day with his Green Bay team and checked into a hotel near Wright State University.
He and his teammates would play the Raiders Saturday and Sunday at the Nutter Center, but Friday—Dec. 25—he had another game going.
Thanks to FaceTime, he watched knowingly as his parents, Lamar and Gerie, his sister Ta’Rae and her daughter Jaya opened their presents in the family’s Trotwood home.
“There was a big present there we thought was for our grandbaby,” Gerie said. “Our daughter even had Jaya open it. That’s when we realized it was for us.
“Amari and Ta’Rae had gone in together and bought a flat screen for our bedroom.”
