Former Wright State star Trey Calvin doesn’t know what’s next after finishing school this spring, but the 6-foot guard is hoping his basketball days aren’t done — and there’s no reason for him to believe they are.
He made remarkable progress as a player in his five years, averaging 20.3 and 19.6 points the last two seasons while being named first team All-Horizon League.
“I just signed with an agent. I got that part out of the way. We’re going to try to get to some camps and get in front of NBA and G League coaches and go from there,” he said.
He’s got options. Most players with his skills can make six figures playing overseas, but he’d like to take the Loudon Love route by starting with the G League and perhaps work his way up to the Big Show.
“I’m going to try to stay in the States at first. If I don’t like the contract I get, then I’ll try to pursue overseas,” he said.
