Air Force Marathon volunteers, your moment to shine approaches.
Registration for those interested in volunteering for 2019 Air Force Marathon events begins May 1.
The marathon needs 2,600 volunteers to help in an array of jobs.
Volunteer registration runs through August 31, but volunteers should sign up quickly to reserve their preferred job, race organizers say.
“Our volunteers have been the backbone of this event since the beginning and are key to its success,” Air Force Race Director Brandon Hough said in a release. “Every year we hear the same feedback from our participants that we have the best volunteers of any race, and we take a lot of pride in that.”
Volunteer opportunities extend to pre-race preparations, the Sports and Fitness Expo, jobs on the finish line on race day and more.
All open volunteer positions are listed on the marathon’s website, www.usafmarathon.com.
