A new community event dedicated to flight will have something for everyone including flyovers, sports, music, a haunted trail, a golf cart parade, beer and food trucks.
The Festival of Flight, a free family festival hosted by Wright State University, will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Nutter Center.
The festival will celebrate aviation and highlight the importance of the Miami Valley’s aviation heritage with a jam-packed schedule of entertainment.
“It’s no secret that the Dayton community takes great pride in our rich aviation legacy. What this festival will provide is the ability to engage young and old alike in the heritage of aviation as well as STEM aspects of flight," Amy Spowart, executive director of the National Aviation Hall of Fame, said in a release.
Hands-on and experiences, many geared toward children, will be held throughout the day along with demonstrations by WSU teachers and researchers.
Sports fans can watch a variety of sporting events throughout the day including the USA Patriots Amputee Softball Team take on local military personnel, a vintage baseball children’s clinic and a softball game matching Wright State and Cedarville University.
