A website that tracks potential NIT participants has the Dayton Flyers and Wright State Raiders playing relatively close to home in the first round — but not against each other.
MidMajorMadness.com has No. 5 seed Dayton playing at No. 4 seed Toledo and No. 7 Wright State playing at No. 2 seed Indiana.
The NIT selection show starts at 8:30 p.m. Sunday. It will be televised on ESPN.
First-round games take place Tuesday and Wednesday. Second-round games take place March 21-15 with quarterfinals following on March 26-27 and the semifinals and championship game April 2 and April 4 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Dayton last played in the NIT in 2012 and won the tournament in 2010. The last Atlantic 10 team to win the tournament was George Washington in 2016. Wright State will make its first NIT appearance after earning an automatic bid by winning the Horizon League regular-season championship.
