Wright State University named Amy Thompson as the university’s new provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, the first permanent provost since the end of 2019.
Thompson will start June 1, succeeding Oliver Evans. Evans has served as interim provost since 2021. The last permanent provost was current Wright State president Susan Edwards, who was promoted to president at the beginning of 2020, and two interim provosts have served in the role since then.
Thompson is the senior vice provost of academic affairs and acting dean of the College of Graduate Studies at the University of Toledo.
