The Wright State basketball team landed its second player this week with the signing of 6-foot-6, 215-pound guard Tim Finke, a transfer from Grand Canyon.
He played in all 34 games with three starts as a freshman last season and averaged 3.5 points with a high of 14 against Utah in the Wooden Classic. Grand Canyon is coached by former NBA star Dan Majerle and joined the Division-I Western Athletic Conference in 2013.
Finke scored 2,015 career points at Champaign Central High School, the most Champaign-Urbana prep history, while playing for his father, Jeff. He was named the News-Gazette player of the year as a senior.
After sitting out a year, he’ll have three years of eligibility.
Northwestern graduate transfer Jordan Ash, a 6-3 guard and team captain for the Wildcats, also signed with the Raiders this week. He’ll be eligible immediately.
The Raiders have one more available scholarship, and coach Scott Nagy indicated he plans to fill it.
