Host families sought for students from Bosnia-Herzegovina coming this fall

Bosnian students visiting WSU

The Dayton Sister City Committee and Dayton Mediation Center are looking for host families for 18 students coming from Bosnia-Herzegovina in the fall of 2020. The students will be here Oct. 3-23.

If selected, host families will receive $500 per student to help offset the costs of food. Host families will be responsible for providing lodging, food and transportation daily to and from the programming, which will take place at the Dayton Mediation Center (371 W. Second St. Dayton, OH 45402).

As part of the screening process, a BCI/FBI background check will be required for all individuals living in the home who are 18 years of age or older. Dropoff/pickup times will be flexible to accommodate host family schedules, but generally programming will take place from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. each day.

If you are interested in becoming a host family, please fill out the Four Cities Young Leader Academy online application on or before the first round consideration takes place on March 31. On that site you can also find a video with highlights from last year’s programming.
