Join your fellow retirees for a bus tour of Woodland Arboretum

Woodland Cemetery

Join your fellow retirees for a tree tour of the Arboretum at Woodland Cemetery on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 10 a.m.–noon. For this tour, WSURA has arranged for a 10-person bus so it is limited to 10 individuals.

With more than 3,000 trees and 165 native species, Woodland Cemetery is accredited as a Level II Arboretum. There are 25 species of Oak trees and 10 current or former State Champion Trees. Join tour guide Kay Linden as he gives you an enlightening tour of the Arboretum at Woodland Cemetery.

The tour is free, but there is a suggested $5 donation that can be made at the site on the day of the tour. All donations support the Woodland Arboretum Foundation, which focuses on the restoration, preservation, horticultural and educational projects needed to keep Woodland a cultural resource for Dayton and Ohio.

Meet at the Eichelberger Plaza at the main gates of the cemetery. Parking is available inside the gates. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a water bottle if needed. Tours will launch rain or shine, except in the event of thunder or lightning.

The deadline for registering is Friday, Oct. 4. To register, send email to the Retirees Association at wsura@wright.edu. Please put "Woodland" in the subject line. We will acknowledge your registration by email.
